Kavala is a city of Eastern Macedonia in northern Greece; it is the third largest city in Macedonia with a population exceeding 54,000 and is built at the foot of Mount Symbol. The history of the city began many thousands of years ago and extends to this day. Apart from the natural beauty that emits, the city has a tuple of archaeological sites, museums and attractions. Kavala Castle, Ancient Philippi (the city of Philippi), the aqueduct known as Kamares, the village of Akkontima unique in the country but also museums such as the Archaeological Museum, the Tobacco Museum and the Municipal Museum are some of the most important places to be for travelers who visit. The city market is very well developed and attracts people from many surrounding areas offering a wide variety of products.
