Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades, famous for its varying landscape from rocks to the mountain to sea to fertile plains and springs. The capital of the island is Chora, which was formerly the center of Archaic Cycladic culture. Naxos, although it is an island of the Cyclades, is very fertile and has rich crops, livestock farming and is almost autonomous. On the island, we will find several archaeological sites, monuments, and sights. Exiting the harbor in the Chora we will see Portara on the left, while on the hill above the city the Venetian castle dominates. In Naxos, we will also find a large number of Byzantine monuments and museums such as Archaeological and Folklore. Sightseeing is certainly not in shortage as we can find old stone houses, the Eggares with running waters and lush cultivated lands and many others.
